REKLAME

Few months in the writing of next season's script, the "Game of Thrones" filming crew finally started getting actors on their feet again. It's been said that the next season's outbreak includes scenes at the Trsteno Arboretum in Croatia. Moreover, Dubrovnik is also being assembled for future filming and it has also been said that it features a few surprises in the upcoming season. DuList provided a few photographs of all this:

    1. LOL did you think that those places existed?

      Delete
    2. That's lol worthy? Could be CGI... miniature sets with trick photography use, some of the scenes could be done on sound stages. You know.... the same way a lot of shows and movies are shot.

      Delete
    3. No. He did not think that. He obviously assumed it was all CGI. A lot of it is actually, but they do build small sets to compliment the CGI backgrounds. Which is why the show looks so good.

The next time you want to say something smart it would be prudent to think before you attempt it.

    4. Leave him alone... hes from the shire. he doesnt get out much

      Delete
    5. LOL didn't you know he thought they were all just chroma key composited?

      Delete
    6. They could easly build half, and CG the other half. I guess Frodo is impressed by how much of it is real versus how much is CG.

      Delete
    7. 1) Old castles and forts could be used with careful cinematography. 2) Special effects do wonders, how do you think they filmed 300, all behind green screen. How about Lord of the Rings. Yes its a stretch to think all these places exists but you think you're so smart and you're not.

      Delete
    8. Wait... you mean all those places and white walkers DONT exist?!!?

I suspect that Frodo figured they were all/mostly CGI...

      Delete
    9. He meant they could have been CG...

Check out their youtube channel and you can see all the effort put into their sets/costumes/etc.

    10. Some shows use a lot of stages and blue/greenscreens. Those sets aren't cheap to build ya know.

      Delete
    11. thats basicly why these series are so expensive....

      Delete
    12. No he's implying he thought they were mostly composited, which they ARE. They just have a few props on location and composite cliffs, castles, towers, streets etc in

      Delete
    13. Green/blue screens? It's only because of the fact that they have a big budget that they build the sets.

      Delete
    14. My guess is he thought it was made with a computer...

      Delete
    15. Look at Spartacus... the places do not exist and yet they didnt build them. It's called cgi

      Delete
    16. How would Frodo Baggins know anything about our ways? Idiot.

      Delete
    17. No, but the volume of CG would lead you to believe that most things were just filmed in front of a green/blue screen. By building sets they can add a level of realism that can sometimes be overlooked with CG.

      Delete
    18. LOL did you think that CGI could easily make a lot of sets?

      Delete
    19. I don't think the surprise is that they build them rather then that they actually exist. I suspect it is that they build them rather than using green screen, which is very widely used.

      See for example these videos,

    20. There is only one thing we say to Trolls, 'Not today.'

      Delete
    21. Yeak like the Death Star. Coz it's realll.

      Delete
    22. Considering Frodo seemed excited about the fact they film on sets as opposed to being upset that they don't film 'on location,' it's safe to assume he was happy there are no green screens involved.

      Delete
    23. No, they probably thought it was CGI. Don't be an idiot.

      Delete
    24. Computer graphics?

      Delete
    25. he means it's not cgi...

      Delete
    26. He probably thought they were done mostly with CGI, as I did.

      Delete
    27. No, he thought they were CGI.

      Delete
    28. He probably thought a lot of it was CGI.

      Delete
    29. no you tard he thought it was CGI....

      Delete
    30. Think he was prolly more comparing it to star wars where a lot of it was done with CG.

      Delete
    31. Nah douche he meant that they aren't computer generated.

      Delete
    32. i think he means as opposed to green screen/CGI

      Delete
    33. These days elaborate-looking sets are usually green-screened, not constructed.

      Delete
    34. I think Frodo thought it was mostly CGI and was pleasantly surprised that it wasn't.
I'd think it would be a combination myself. Non CGI for area's and shot's close to the actors and CGI for anything more peripheral or long distance. Best of both worlds that way.

      Delete
    35. I think he means as compared to using just CGI, like many shows and movies do.

      Delete
    36. actually in most series with elaborate sets, the scenery is computer generated and the real life set is pretty minimal

      Delete
    37. i think he means as opposed to cg set extensions...

      Delete
    38. If you look at Boardwalk Empire, so much of the stuff is CGI -- even some of the basic boardwalk stuff (like the Ritz!) I too expected a lot more green screen...

      Delete
    39. Or CGI but that's cool to laugh at a stranger

      Delete
    40. I think master Frodo was referring to CGI effects rather than good old fashioned set building.

      Delete
    41. A man can dream..

      Delete
    42. Nah, he probably thought everything was done with CGI.

      Delete
    43. i'm pretty sure Mr. Frodo meant that they aren't CGI... They are actually built.

      Delete
    44. He thought they used CGI...

      Delete
    45. He more than likely assumed they were added in post production, as is often the norm in non premium cable shows.

      Delete
    46. Yeah idiot. Everyone knows they have to spend all their money on renting the dragons.

      Delete
    47. "Hoped" is more the word I was thinking.

      Delete
    48. no dumbass he thought it was CGI

      Delete
    49. I think what Baggins said was stated given the amount of CGI is used for GoT.

      Delete
    50. He probably expected CGI smartass

      Delete
    51. I think they meant that they build them rather than use CGI.

      Delete
    52. He thought it was CG

      Delete
    53. a lot of it is CG as well

      Delete
    54. I think Frodo assumed there was more CGI.

      Delete
    55. he probably meant CGI

      Delete
    56. Most production companies would just use CGI

      Delete
    57. I think he means this... It's not CGI!

      Delete
    58. no, more like it's awesome that they don't use CGI , I guess!

      Delete
    59. It's awesome that they build the sets instead of making them from CGI.

      Delete
    60. They could have been partially or entirely green screened.

      Delete
    61. I dreamed they did.

Knowledge ruins the magic in life
Which in a way, is magic.

      Delete
    62. Maybe he thought that the filmed settings are CG?

      Delete
    63. I think he was referring to the overuse of CGI sets.

      Delete
    64. I dunno if you read the same thing as i did, but he prolly thought it was animated, the most of it..

      Delete
    65. No he thought they were photoshopped or only 2 dimensional. Please mind I am only hypothesizing.

      Delete
    66. They meant they aren't just CGI, obviously.

      Delete
    67. Actually built versus generated with computer.

      Delete
    68. Probably thought they were CGI rather than actual sets.

      Delete
    69. Well he IS from Middle Earth, you know.

      Delete
    70. Maybe his point of excitement was building EVERYTHING from scratch vs. going to existing, but lesser known places AND building sets on top of it.

      Delete
    71. I think he likely thought that these places were green-screened.

      Delete
    72. he probably thought that they were CGI, however the sets in GOT are both CGI and real life sets.

      Delete
    73. The places exists. The props are built.

      Delete
    74. LOL did you think I don't know of CG?

      Delete
    75. A lot of them do. They also build some.

      Delete
    76. Are you retarted? Frodo was clearly thinking it was CGI.

      Delete
    77. LAWLAWLAWLAWL
      HAHAHAHAHAHAH

      Delete
    78. I think he thought they were CGI.

      Delete
    79. you're probably not aware, that most things are cgi these days, even sets.

      Delete
    80. Pretty sure they meant instead of cgi.

      Delete
    81. lol... new level of stupid... you know cgi?

      Delete
    82. No, he thought they were CGI.

      Delete
  2. No Anon, he probably just presumed it was all CGI, as everything usually is now. I'm impressed they actually build things up as well.

    ReplyDelete
  3. YOU MEAN THE TV SERIES ROME WASN'T ACTUALLY FILMED IN ROME ?!!?!??!?!

    ReplyDelete
  4. No, 90% of the set is already present and exist in real world. Just google the places where they shoot.

    ReplyDelete
  5. The new series of Downton Abbey is looking good.

    ReplyDelete
  6. crazy enough, majority of sets are crafted by foam.

    ReplyDelete
  7. They could've been done in CGI like a lot of productions nowadays.
the fact that they took time to build sets is impressive and noteworthy.

    ReplyDelete
  8. HODOOOOOOOOOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  9. No wonder it takes them close to a year to do 10 episode. I get a headache just thinking about all the work that goes into building those sets.

Also it's not uncommon for Frodo to think it may have all been CGI, like Heroes or other shows.

    ReplyDelete
  10. how could they not, it is documented!

    ReplyDelete
  11. I'm pretty sure he meant rather than green screen. Using green screen is very common nowadays instead of building sets. 300, for example, was almost 100% green screen. So was most of Asgard in Thor.

    ReplyDelete
  12. First picture = boobiiiiieeees

    ReplyDelete
  13. Maybe Frodo thought CG was even more heavily used than it already is

    ReplyDelete
  14. I think he was probably remarking on the lack of CGI

    ReplyDelete
  15. Built instead of CGI

    ReplyDelete
  16. I think he was referring to the fact that the sets are not CGI.

    ReplyDelete
  17. i'm assuming he thought they were CG..

    ReplyDelete
  18. You haven't travelled much, have you? Places like that exists all over the world.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Curiously awaiting for the new season :)

    ReplyDelete
  20. Many sets are virtual and most distant castles are not models, they're CGI.

    ReplyDelete
  21. I think he meant as opposed to green screen

    ReplyDelete
  22. Actually, Trsteno park is more beautiful than CGI shots you see in GoTT, you ignorant twats.

    ReplyDelete
  23. No he was assuming they used CGI. Really?

    ReplyDelete
  24. They used CGI to some places to make it more realistic.
